Linux black screen after grub
Linux black screen after grub. I tried lot of stuff while I was searching for a solution. Even so, inxi -G would result in Device-1: Intel driver: N/A and display configurations were limited. I've tried all sorts of fixes found online, but the only one that would work is adding nomodeset to my grub config. Check disc for defects. Whatever I choose I get a black screen after it. Try including GRUB_GFXMODE=vga=vesa after nomodeset. I still hear a click into my headphones, so it looks like a video issue. If I start LinuxMint on recovery mode it shows the message: "Loading Linux 5. modeset=0 and include GRUB_GFXMODE=vga=vesa. - No blinking cursor, No boot message despite removing "quiet" from boot parameters. 4. modeset=0. I tried edit the command from GRUB replacing quiet splash with nomodeset, nvidia. 0. In UEFI I set SATA to AHCI, turned off Secure Boot and Fast Boot. Here is the exact symptoms and what I've tried to fix it so far: - The screen goes blank right after selecting the boot partition from GRUB. I'd prefer not to have to keep this setting in my grub config. Possibly after an update, the OS started to boot onto a black screen. If that doesn't work then try replacing nomodeset with nvidia. modeset=0 or nouveau. After POST, it shows the Grub menu, but then I get a black screen and nothing happens. . Check disc for defects. 26-generic" But nothing happens after that. I have tried editing the boot parameters, removing quiet splash, and changing gfxmode $linux_gfx_mode for gfxmode text, to be able to see some kind of info at boot, but the black screen still persists. Booting on recovery mode and with nomodeset goes just fine, which pretty much confirms my assumption. - No TTY , I can not even access the prompt blindly.
